  • Irondequoit Girl Scouts are currently hosting their second annual silent auction.
The auction is ongoing through Friday, May 17, at both branches of the Irondequoit Public Llibrary: The McGraw branch at 2180 E. Ridge Road or the Evans branch at 45 Cooper Road.
The auction is also available online at https://sites.google.com/site/2013gsauction/
The auction will conclude next Sunday, May 19, at the irondequoit Girl Scouts' Court of Awards ceremony, which is free and open to the public, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Irondequoit United Church of Christ, 644 Titus Ave.
In last year's Girl Scout auction, the "hot item" was lunch with Supervisor Mary Joyce D'Aurizio, which sold for $1,000!
This year, the Scouts have a round of golf with Irondequoitlibrary director Terry Buford, as well as a number of books, games, toys, and gift certificates.
The Irondequoit Service Unit of the Girl Scouts is 100 percent volunteer run, and 100 percent of the money raised during the auction will go directly to support the around 400 Girl Scouts in the town of Irondequoit.
