Battery baseball alum Jeff Albert paid a surprise visit to the facility in Gates to pay his respects for the recent death of Battery owner John Tillinghast (Coach T).

Albert, a graduate of Bishop Kearny High School and Division 1 Butler, trained at The Battery during his middle and high school years, and was the pitcher of the Kearney team who won sectionals in 1997 coached by Ed Nietopski and Coach T.

Albert, who resides in Jupiter, Fla., returned for his fourth season as the hitting coach for the Cardinals organization. He is the owner and operator of swingtraining.net, which is a site dedicated to baseball training and analysis.
