A caravan of seven full school buses, plus four or five, full, chief's cars and a Sea Breeze Fire Department engine displaying two American flags on the back left Eastridge High School about 5:30 p.m. tonight, Saturday, Dec. 29, to head to Schroeder High School in Webster to attend the calling hours for two fallen West Webster firefighters. Irondequoit firehouses were manned by area companies so the local firefighters could show their support, together, in Webster. The West Webster Fire Department lost two firefighters, Lt. Mike Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka to a sniper's bullets as they answered a fire call on Lake Road in Webster in the early morning hours of Monday, Dec. 24. Firefighters from Irondequoit's Sea Breeze and Point Pleasant departments also responded to that call.
