After a nearly seven-year wait, the Seneca Park Zoo welcomed the public to its $15 million, state-of-the-art A Step Into Africa exhibit today, Thursday, May 17. It is the only exhibit in the U.S. focusing on the Ngorongoro Crater of Tanzania, Africa and is designed to take visitors on a "safari," through exhibits of lions, baboons, elephants and more. The zoo will be hosting a naming contest for the three new lions calling the exhibit their permanent home.
