Canandaigua running back Jaymin Ransom earned Ontario Honda Section 5 Class A Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance against Honeoye Falls-Lima on Saturday. The junior ran the ball 18 times for 234 yards and three touchdowns in the Braves’ 48-21 win.

Here’s a look at the other players of the week from week six:

East’s Justin Noye is Class AA Offensive Player of the Week. The junior quarterback had 22 carries for 236 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also threw for two touchdowns against Hilton.

East Rochester/Gananda’s Chris Falu-Montes is the Class B Offensive Player of the Week. The senior running back rushed 19 times for 202 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Waterloo.

Elba/Byron Bergen’s Zack Dubois is the Class C Offensive Player of the Week. The senior running back had 22 carries for 271 yards and three rushing touchdowns in a win over University Prep. 

Alexander’s Dylan Scharlau is the Class DD Offensive Player of the Week. The junior running back had 21 carries for 218 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Pembroke.

Clyde-Savannah’s Joe Faniel is the Class D Offensive Player of the Week. The junior wide out scored six Touchdowns in a win over Watervliet. He caught three touchdown pass and returned a kick, punt and fumble for touchdowns.

Hilton’s Andy Miller is the Class AA Defensive Player of the Week. The senior linebacker had 12 tackles and a fumble recovery against East.

Churchville’s Sam Eagan is the Class A Defensive Player of the Week. The junior defensive end had seven solo tackles, three assisted tackles, two sacks, and two quarterback hurries. 

Livonia’s Derek Bishopp is the  Class B Defensive Player of the Week. The senior had eight solo tackles and eight assisted tackles. On offense he recorded 238 rushing yards and four touchdowns.


Elba/Byron Bergen’s Andy Underhill is the Class C Defensive Player of the Week. The junior linebacker had three quarterback hurries, an interception and 10 solo tackles.

Avon’s Dan Welch is the Class DD Defensive Player of the Week. The junior linebacker had a fumble recovery, two quarterback hurries, four solo tackles and five assisted tackles.

Clyde-Savannah’s Kam DiSanto is the Class D Defensive Player of the Week. The junior defensive lineman had 10 solo tackles, two assisted tackles and one fumble recovery.
