The Rush Fire Department responded Saturday, July 21, to Route 15A, a quarter-mile north of Route 251, for a vehicle into a house with smoking.
Upon arrival, fire officials learned that gas service was leaking, and that the power riser was smashed into the home at the same area as the gas service went in. The smell of gas was present. The crews pulled lines to displace the gas fumes and set up a deluge gun in the street, fire officials said.
Also responding were Henrietta and Honeoye Falls fire departments, Henrietta Ambulance, Rochester Gas & Electric and National Grid.
