U.S. Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle (R-Syracuse) and several of her House colleagues will travel to Israel Aug. 20 through 28 to gain a firsthand understanding of some the most pressing foreign policy challenges in the Middle-East.

Congresswoman Buerkle will expand upon her knowledge of the U.S.-Israel relationship, Israel’s security environment and important political and economic trends in the region. Representative Buerkle will meet with senior Israeli and Palestinian leaders and explore opportunities for bilateral economic and technological cooperation.

“Israel is a vital ally and strategic partner of the United States.” Buerkle said. “As a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, I am looking forward to having a comprehensive dialogue with senior officials about how America can continue to play a constructive role in helping address the challenges of the region.”

The trip is coordinated by the American Israel Educational Foundation (AIEF) in compliance with all U.S. House of Representatives rules and regulations.
