According to New York state police, officers in Bath responded to a call Sunday morning about an illegal home entry by an unknown male at a house on East Main Street in the village of Canisteo in Steuben County.
Police say the unknown man entered an upstairs bedroom where a 10-year-old girl was sleeping and removed the child from her bed. The suspect carried the girl down the stairs toward an exterior door.
Police say that the man exited the house without the child, and that the girl is unharmed.
