A group called Citizens Against Police Brutality and Misconduct is holding a news conference Wednesday morning to call for the termination of two Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies who shot and killed a pitbull.
Last week, Gary Brockler of Perinton filed a lawsuit against Deputy Shaun LeClair and Deputy Matt Clancy. The lawsuit claims the deputies intentionally shot and killed his dog, Diablo, in June at his residence. Deputies say they were called to Brockler’s home on Whitney Road that night for a report of an illegally parked car.
Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn says his deputies didn’t do anything wrong and the dog was extremely aggressive towards the officers.
Brockler is suing for $10,000 in damages.
Wednesday’s news conference will be held at 11 a.m. outside the Monroe County Sheriff’s headquarters on South Plymouth Avenue.
