Discovery Charter School, located in the Bishop Kearney High School building at 125 Kings Highway S., welcomed 160 students back to school this past Monday, Aug. 20.
The school’s director, Joseph Saia, greeted each student as he or she got off their buses.
Discovery Charter School, which opened with grades K-2 in the fall of 2011, has added two third-grade classes for the 2012-13 academic year.
Discovery also welcomed new teachers to its staff. They are: Sara Amesbury, Jessica Cordova, Carmen Henry, Jean Hoyt, Chris Jaskier, Adam Komczyk, Brittni Sanders and Kara Snyder.
Discovery is an Expeditionary Learning school.
