Worried fans and residents have been reaching out to the Post, asking about the fate of the Vic and Irv's Refreshments stand on what is known as "hot dog row" in the Sea Breeze area of Irondequoit.
Owner Kevin Klee responded to inquiries today and said not to worry, that the restaurant has been closed early this year only "for some cleaning and maintenance in the off-season."
Klee said Vic and Irv's, 4880 Culver Road, will reopen no later than March 1.
Vic & Irv's namesake Vic Anuszkiewicz (Annis) died Feb. 16, 2010, at age 95. Klee purchased the restaurant from him about six years earlier.
The eatery known for its "hots," "ground rounds," hand-cut fries, milkshakes and more, has a history dating back to 1934. It has been at its present location since about 1947.
