  • State grants awarded from the latest round of funds from the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council for job skills and workforce programs will be discussed Friday, March 7, at 10 a.m.
    The grants offer funds for educational programs in fields ranging from healthcare to advanced manufacturing to arts management.
    State Sen. Ted O’Brien, and Assembly Majority Leader Joe Morelle, both Democrats from Irondequoit, will be among the speakers at the event at Monroe Community College Applied Technologies Center, Precision Machine C&C Lab, 2485 W. Henrietta Road.
    Monroe Community College President Anne Kress and Ebony Miller, program manager of Rochester Institute of Technology’s IT Center for Urban Entrepreneurship will also be among the speakers who represent organizations receiving funds.
